Privacy Policy
LokoSnake is a free browser-based Snake game at lokosnake.com. You can play without an account. Signing in is optional and is used for features such as saving your best score, showing your leaderboard identity, and managing your public player profile.
Information We Collect
- Game and device data: score events, browser type, page URL, approximate technical diagnostics, and similar data needed to run and secure the site.
- Google sign-in data: if you choose Google sign-in, we receive your Google account identifier, email address, display name, and profile image through Amazon Cognito.
- Leaderboard data: your best score, player display name, avatar URL, and account identifier so the leaderboard can show your ranked result.
- Optional profile data: if you link or update a profile, we may store a nickname, avatar URL, and Gravatar-related values used to display your chosen public profile.
- Analytics data: only after you opt in, Google Analytics may collect usage information such as visits, pages, device category, and coarse location.
How We Use Information
- Authenticate signed-in players and keep sessions working.
- Save and display leaderboard scores and public player profile details.
- Protect the service from abuse, debugging failures, and maintaining reliability.
- Understand aggregate site usage and improve the game experience.
- Respond to support, privacy, or deletion requests.
Google User Data
LokoSnake requests only the Google OAuth scopes openid, email, and profile. We use Google user data only for sign-in, account identity, and optional public leaderboard/profile display. We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or share it except with service providers that operate the app.
Public Leaderboard and Profile Display
If you submit a signed-in score, your best score and public display identity may appear on the leaderboard. Depending on your settings and available profile data, the public display may use your chosen nickname, Google display name, Google profile image, linked Gravatar image, or a generated DiceBear fallback avatar.
Service Providers
We use service providers to operate LokoSnake, including Amazon Web Services for hosting, authentication, APIs, and storage; Google for OAuth sign-in and optional analytics; Gravatar for optional linked profile images; and DiceBear for generated fallback avatars. These providers process data according to their own terms and privacy practices.
Retention and Deletion
We keep account, leaderboard, and profile data for as long as needed to provide the game, maintain security, and operate the leaderboard. Some leaderboard records may expire automatically. You can request deletion of account-linked leaderboard or profile data by contacting lokosnake@zohomail.eu.
Your Choices
- You can play without signing in.
- You can stop using Google sign-in and revoke LokoSnake access in your Google account settings.
- You can request deletion or correction of account-linked profile and leaderboard data.
- Google Analytics is strictly opt-in: its tag is not loaded and no analytics request is sent before you accept analytics cookies.
- Your analytics choice is stored in your browser under snake_analytics_consent. Use Cookie settings in the game page footer to change or withdraw that choice at any time. Withdrawing consent stops further collection and removes LokoSnake's available Google Analytics cookies.
Security
We use HTTPS, private storage, access controls, and short-lived authentication sessions where appropriate. No online service can guarantee perfect security.
Children
LokoSnake is a general-audience game and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child provided account information, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.
